The Asian School: 25 Years of Excellent Celebrated

The Asian School, Dehradun came alive with 25 years of excellent celebrated. The air rang with joyous festivities in the wonderfully adorned Asian Acres. The Upper Terrace became a sight to behold as parents sat in great anticipation for the Cultural Programme to commence. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the honourable chief guest, Mr. Anupam Kher an inspirational man of many talents- actor, director, and writer.

The occasion was graced by the invaluable presence of the President, Mr. Amarjeet Singh, the Vice President Mr. Madanjeet Singh, the Directors Mr.Tarunjyot Juneja, Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja and Mrs. Vartika Sah Juneja, the Board of governors of the Asian School, parents, students and the entire staff.

The lovely evening proceeded with the welcome address. Following the welcome address, the Director, Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja offered a glimpse into his vision for The Asian School in the coming years. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to parents and students for their unwavering trust and support. He also announced the expansion of franchises in Jammu, Ludhiana, and Paonta Sahib, aiming to broaden the school’s reach and provide quality education to more students.

The Principal, Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, while presenting the Annual Report, briefed the audience about salient events and results of the past year in scholastic and non–scholastic areas and highlighted the all-round achievements of the school. The Co-Curricular Activity Captain, Arunima Saxena, announced the names of those who excelled in co-curricular pursuits, while Vanya Sirohi, the Sports Captain, proudly presented the achievements in sports.

Acknowledging their meritorious academic performances, the CBSE achievers were felicitated on the occasion by Mr. Kher, which was followed by the felicitation of the founding members.

A ceremonious launch of the 25 th edition of ‘Colors’, the school magazine followed, along with the third volume of ‘Reflections’, an articulate collection of short stories penned by the Asiantites .

The distinguished Chief Guest, in his address, thanked the school management for giving him the opportunity to grace the occasion. In his address he emphasized that the biggest obstacle holding today’s youngsters back is the fear of failure. As parents and elders, it’s crucial to recognize and address this fear. Failure is not a reflection of a person’s worth, but rather an event that can foster growth.

In the cultural programme, the curtain raiser was the school song, performed beautifully by the school choir comprising junior and senior school. It was superseded by an exhilarating show by Groovers, the school band, who mesmerized the avid audience with their talent. The spectacle received fervent applause. However, the highlight of the celebrations came to be ‘Zangoora: The Gypsy Prince’, an epic musical tale about an estranged prince destined to be king, finding love along the way, and ultimately a battle between good and evil. The dance sequences, featuring a blend of classical, folk, and Bollywood styles, stood out for their energetic choreography, vibrant costumes, dynamic visuals and special effects creating a magical experience for the audience.

The head girl, Samriddhi Kothiyal shared a heartfelt speech about the school’s contributions to her life and personality, from a shy girl to a confident person her juniors look up to. The head boy, Divyansh Kalra reminisced about his journey, and shared his candid thoughts, and his contentment on being the captain of the Cricket team, a sport he loves.

The jollification eventually came to conclusion with a vote of thanks proposed by the vice head girl, Priyanshi Aggarwal.
