All India Inter School Basketball Tournament 2024

Dehradun, April 26 th 2024 – The 11 th All India Inter School Asian Challenge Basketball Tournament kicked off with a grand opening ceremony at The Asian School, Dehradun. The prestigious event, featuring the Boys Under-19 category, commenced on the evening of April 26 th and will run until April 29 th 2024.

A total of 12 teams are vying for the championship title in this exhilarating tournament, which follows a league cum knockout format. The participating teams include:

1. Corvuss American Academy (CAB), Mumbai

2. Wood Stock School (WS), Mussoorie

3. Doon International School (DIS), Dehradun

4. Sri Ram Centennial School (SRCS), Dehradun

5. The Doon School (DS), Dehradun

6. Heritage Xperiential Learning School (HXL), Gurugram

7. Wynberg Allen School (WAS), Mussoorie

8. Tulsa’s International School (TIS), Dehradun

9. Pestle Weed School (PWS), Dehradun

10. Sacred Souls School (SSC), Chandigarh

11. New Public School (NPS), Chandigarh

12. The Asian School (TAS), Dehradun

Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, Principal of The Asian School, Dehradun, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She inaugurated the event and extended her best wishes to all the participating teams emphasising on the spirit of true sportsmanship.

The ceremony began with the oath-taking by the basketball captain, Heisnam Daniel Mangang, representing The Asian School.

Exhibitional match between The Asian School, Dehradun and Sacred Souls School, Chandigarh was played to inaugurate the tournament.

The tournament’s opening matches witnessed a spirited battle between The Doon School (DS), Dehradun and Tula’s International School (TIS). DS emerged victorious with a score of 51/22, with Jaisal leading as the highest scorer.

The Second Match was between Corvuss American Academy and Heritage Xperiential Learning School. CAA with a score of 51/22 emerged victorious, with Yogesh Yadav leading as the highest scorer with 43 points.

Notable dignitaries in attendance included Mr. Gaganiyot Juneja, Director The Asian School, Head Senior School Mr. Mukesh Nangia, Headmistress Ms. Prachi Mehrotra and HOD Sports Mr. Sanjay Rana. Also present were various school officials, coaches, referees, staff, and enthusiastic students from The Asian School.
