The 25th Junior Sports Day at The Asian School, Dehradun, was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of athleticism, camaraderie and academic excellence. It was held on 23rd October, 2024. The event unfolded amidst the verdant expanse of the school’s lush green Woods.
Gracing the occasion on the Silver Jubilee celebrations of The Asian School as the Chief Guest was Ms. Meenakshi Soti and Captain Rohit Soti, an alumni of Devi Ahilya University, Indore, the founder Principal of the illustrious Doon Heritage School, Dehradun. She is an educationist with over 20 years of experience in teaching and school administration.
The sports day was a kaleidoscope of athleticism, featuring a diverse array of races for students of all ages which included 25 m, 50 m, 80 m, 100 m and relay races. From the exhilarating sprints of the older students to the playful “Cinderella” and “Royal Prince Race” for Pre-Primary children, the event catered to every age group. The cheerleading squad further added to the enthusiasm and the spirit of the Sports Day through their dazzling smiles and positive energy.
The students of Classes 4 and 5 demonstrated a Zumba Dance which was indeed eye-catching with the message of importance of fitness and health. Students of the Primary wing showcased their talent and skill through an amalgamation of yoga and sports equipment in the form of a Multi Sports Drill.
A fun-filled race for parents, aptly named “Gear Up and Drive!!!” encouraged active participation from the guardians, fostering a sense of camaraderie and setting a positive example for their children.
The Chief Guest was delighted to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of the young participants. She lauded the effort of all involved, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The energetic performances left the audience spellbound, earning the school accolades and recognition. The Principal of The Asian School, Ms. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.
