Victorious Orators: The Asian School and St. Joseph’s Academy Triumph in the 23rd Asian Challenge English Debate – 2025
Over the weekend- In a display of unparalleled rhetoric and intellectual prowess, The Asian School, triumphed as the distinguished victor of the esteemed 23rd Asian Challenge, held at the beautiful White House Court. Surpassing a formidable lineup of 12 competing institutions, St. Joseph’s Academy seized the coveted Rolling Trophy along with a substantial cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-. As per tradition The Asian School never competes for the trophy therefore the rolling trophy and the cash prize were awarded to St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun who had secured the second position.
Furthermore, the remarkable Ann Mary School, secured the position of first runners-up, earning a commendable cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-
Renowned schools from Dehradun namely, Summer Valley, Ecole Globale International Girls’ School, St.Joseph’s Academy, Ann Mary School, RIMC, DIS Riverside, Gyananda School, CJM, Olympus High, St. Jude’s School, Mount Fort Academy and The Asian School. The participants spoke for and against the proposition-

The pinnacle of the event was marked by the announcement of the following accolades:

✔ Best Speaker (Against) – Rishab Khandka, Ann Mary School
✔ Best Rebuttal (For) – Gurman Kaur Sahni, St. Joseph’s Academy
✓ Best Rebuttal (Against) – Anjuman Panwar, The Asian School
✓ Best Team – St. Joseph’s Academy
The ceremonial inauguration, symbolized by the lighting of the lamp, was gracefully performed by The Principal of The Asian School and the esteemed panel of judges, infusing the occasion with auspiciousness and reverence.
Speaking on the occasion The Judges Mr. Sandeep Kumar (Special Educator), Dr. Annie Singh (Educator) and Ms. Diwija Pande (Educator) congratulated the winners and said that the topic was immaculate and eloquently dealt with by the students. They spoke in high volumes about the level of awareness, on the issue showcased, by the young participants.
Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, The Principal, adorned the winners with their well-deserved prizes, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Mukesh Nangia, Head Senior School, Ms. Prachi Mehrotra, Headmistress, Ms. Surbhi Narula, Deputy Head Mistress, esteemed faculty members, esteemed guests, and the spirited student body.
The event culminated with a gracious vote of thanks, delivered by the Head Girl, Anvishita Yadav, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their invaluable contributions towards making the 23rd Asian Challenge English Debate a resounding success.
