The Asian School proudly celebrated its momentous 25th Founders’ Day on the 25th October 2024, with grandeur and heartfelt reverence. The commemoration began with the inauguration of the Subject Exhibition, a showcase of the students’ intellectual curiosity and creativity. The festivities were elevated by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Anuradha Pundeer Malla, a distinguished educator known for her visionary contributions to the field of education. Her larger-than-life presence added an aura of inspiration and significance to this landmark occasion.
The respective departments of all the subjects, exhibited diverse projects revolving around the theme of ‘17 Goals of Sustainable Development’ accentuating the vitality of Sustainable Development in all aspects of our life. Foremost, the Mathematics department showcased some exquisite models explaining the usage of Mathematics in phenomenal concepts like designing Smart City and determining the probability of Earthquakes. The Computer exhibition highlighted how information technology enhances infrastructure efficiency through smart technologies, drives industrial innovation by improving processes, and empowers communities by fostering entrepreneurship and skills development and showcased real-world examples of successful IT integration in sustainable practices. The psychology exhibition explored Good Health, Quality Education, and Gender Equality through interactive displays on mental well-being, inclusive learning, and empowerment. The English exhibition presented the Merchant of Venice (court scene) and spin wheel of poetic devices among many other impeccable ones. Inspired by Michelle Obama and Martin Luther King Jr. students delivered thought provoking speeches on education and social justice.
The Painting exhibition displayed relief structure on wood, of Shiva, Hanuman ji, Cupid, and many other masterpieces. One of the main attractions of the Physical Education exhibition was a scanner which is based on self-made website calculating BMI and providing knowledge about exercises and diet for different health categories. The Physics exhibition presented a Quadcopter, one of the most stable drones having vast uses in various fields. The Chemistry exhibition, emphasizing Green Economy, Waste Management and Climate Change, displayed models on effects of Acid Rain, Solar Water Purifier, Plastic Road and more. The Biology exhibition unveiled innovative models and projects addressing critical global challenges inclusive of a solar-powered drip irrigation system, magnetically driven vehicles, wastewater treatment plants and explored the lesser-known threats to marine life, raising awareness of the critical need to protect underwater ecosystems from acoustic disturbances. The Commerce Exhibition focused on models which highlighted organic farming in Sikkim. The Hindi exhibition focussed on justice, peace , strong institution and partnership for the goal , presented models with the miniature of The Asin School symbolizing 25 years of partnership between administration , teachers and students.
The Art and Craft exhibition set forth fantastic and breathtaking art pieces depicting Indian folk art, Kalighat paintings, and Pattachitra artwork, among other exhibits.
The teachers and students welcomed the visitors and parents with open arms. The exhibition reflected the students’ firm grasp on various subjects and their creative flair, insinuating holistic development, and evidently left its mark on the spectators, who were all bedazzled by it.
The Asian School also organized its Annual Book Fair on this occasion, showcasing a wide collection of books from every genre. It was inaugurated by Ms. Pooja Marwah, a regular columnist and prolific author. It was heartwarming to see students from all age groups in attendance, indulging in the joy of books, even in the digital age.
