“The quote by American psychologist Carl Rogers, ‘The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn …and change’, holds more relevance today than ever before. In this era of the ‘new normal’, educators strive to equip students with the ability to adapt and learn continuously.
I began my journey with the school during the unprecedented lockdown period, when traditional classroom settings were replaced by remote learning. The team at Asian School is dedicated to ensuring that education reaches students even in the confines of their homes.
We believe in incorporating the traditional three Rs of education – Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic – alongside the new three Rs of Rethink, Realign, and Redesign. This is not just theoretical, but a practical approach that our teachers employ on a daily basis to ensure quality education in changing times.”
We may not all be experts in this situation, but as parents, educators, and most importantly, as advocates for our students, we are all in this together.
As adults, we understand that parents are facing numerous challenges and uncertainties, but it is our children who are truly the most affected. Not only are they dealing with the repercussions of their parents’ struggles, but they are also fighting their own battles as the world has drastically changed in a short span of time.
It is crucial for both schools and parents to support, monitor, and encourage children as they navigate through these unprecedented times and strive to get their academics and school life back on track.
By working together as a cohesive team, parents and schools can ensure that our children emerge from this challenging period stronger and more resilient.
As life slowly returns to a sense of normalcy, we remain hopeful that the worst is behind us and that we can move forward on the path of education, uninterrupted.
Take care and stay safe.
God Bless.
