Successful Model United Nations Conference 2025

The Asian School proudly hosted the Model United Nations Conference on 12th and 13th April 2025. The concept behind the Model United Nations (TASMUN) was to inspire students from classes VI to XII to consider issues that transcend their immediate surroundings. Its goal was to nurture skills like critical thinking, persuasive argumentation, decision-making and empowering participants to play an active role in shaping their own future and that of the global community. All students demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and engagement, showcasing critical thinking and diplomatic skills through active participation in debates and discussions.

With a robust participation of 530 delegates from 9 prominent public schools in Dehradun, TASMUN- 2025 witnessed lively discussions and debates across 14 committees, including the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), Fédération International de Football Association (FIFA), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Harry Potter, Marvel, Lok Sabha , United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Indian Premier League Auction (IPL Auction),G-20, International Press(IP) covering topics from international peace and security to climate change, global governance and women empowerment.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, Principal, The Asian School, highlighted the significance of the United Nations as a platform for collaboration and problem-solving. She underscored the importance of students from various schools uniting to exchange ideas and tackle global challenges. Additionally, Mrs. Datta emphasized that MUN sparks curiosity and passion in young minds, fostering a deeper understanding of global affairs.

Participating schools, including St. Joseph’s Academy, Tula’s International School, Unison World School, Ecole Globale Girls’ International School, Vantage Hall, St. Patrick’s Academy, Olympus High, The Tonsbridge and The Oasis contributed to the conference’s success, enriching discussions with diverse perspectives.

The Best Delegate from each committee was presented with a certificate and trophy each.
