The Asian School, Dehradun, commenced its 25th Annual Inter House The 25th Annual Athletic Meet, 2024 Opening Ceremony on 19th October, 2024.The event took place in the beautiful surroundings of the Woods, and the excitement was in the air. The Principal, Mrs. Ruchi Pradhan Datta, inaugurated the ceremony, setting the tone for an event filled with energy and school spirit.
The Principal officially opened the meet by raising the School Flag. Right after, the students performed an impressive March Past, led by our Sports Captain, Vanya Sirohi. Students from all the houses took a pledge to uphold sportsmanship, compete fairly, and bring honour to the spirit of sport.
The event showcased the dedication of our students to push their limits and succeed, showing what it means to be a part of The Asian School. The March Past, led by the Sports Captain Vanya Sirohi accompanied by Sports Captain Antriksh Saini, was followed by the White House Contingent, which included the Head Boy Divyansh Kalra, Head Girl Samriddhi Kothiyal, Vice-Head Boy Rudraksh Purohit, Vice-Head Girl Priyanshi Aggarwal, Co-Curricular Activities Captains Arunima Saxena along with Ayush Gupta and Literary Secretaries Naisha Dhyani together with Aarya Jaiswal Joining them were the Mess Secretaries Aditya Singh and Jhanvi Aggarwal adding to the grand atmosphere. They were joined by the other houses in the parade, adding to the grand atmosphere.
Each house carried its flag with pride, Garima Singh Patel led Arjun House, Prapti Pandey represented Ashoka House, Shadmaan Salimi held the flag for Ranjit House and Ananya Gupta carried the flag for Shivaji House.
A standout moment in the ceremony was the performance by our talented school band, led by Himanshi, and guided by our Band Master Retd. ACP Naib Subedar Rajesh Negi. They played beautifully to the tunes of ‘Kadham Badha’ and ‘Saare jaha se acha,’ adding a wonderful rhythm to the event.
The first day of the meet was full of exciting track events. In the finals of the 800- meter run open girls above 16, Ishi Sharma from Ashoka House bagged the first position. The 4×100-meter relay girls under 12 was won by Ashoka House, showing great teamwork and speed.
The occasion was attended by Director Mr. Gaganjyot Juneja, Head Senior School, Mr. Mukesh Nangia, Headmistress Ms. Prachi Mehrotra , Deputy Head Junior School, Ms. Surbhi Narula, HOD Sports Retd. Subedar. Sanjay Kumar Rana APTC, the staff and the students of The Asian School.
